If we must cancel due to a birth, we will contact you
Most of the time those pursuing homebirth have a good understanding of what is involved and how it is different than hospital birth. For most, the midwife interview process, while allowing for questions, is essentially a social time to meet her/them and determine if a connection is felt. It is also a time for the midwives being interviewed to determine if a good fit is sensed. Thus, a certain personality or style is mostly what families are looking for in making their decision; likewise, midwives assess understanding of and commitment to homebirth - the interview process goes both ways. We have posted on our home page a 30 minute video where we talk about ourselves and homebirth in order for those interested to gather some understanding. We have also added a very thorough FAQ section to our website. Please take advantage of these resources. We can then answer more questions at a meet and greet for those who have them, or just get to know each other a bit. If there is still more information that is needed, or you do not prefer the meet and greet format, you can call or email us and we may be able to find open slots in our schedule where we can agree to meet with you. If specific times or days are needed that will require accommodation from us, we may be able to offer a consult, but there will be a fee of $100. If we are mutually agreeable to journeying together, this amount will then be credited towards your overall complete package fee for homebirth.
So we launched our podcast before Covid hit. The first 3 episodes discuss our background, our experiences, and how we got to where we are today. We then published a few episodes of interviews with our homebirth moms. Then we dropped the ball! Our sincere hope is to get back to interviewing and getting more episodes
