Welcome to a choice in maternity care. In addition to offering the modern and routine office -based model of prenatal care, we are now offering a more traditional home-based approach that not only takes into account the busy lives of families, but honors the historic maternity care of the past.
Throughout the years, many of our moms have questioned the necessity of so many prenatal visits when they are healthy and have had healthy pregnancies and deliveries in the past. They also are busy women who are juggling home school or other school schedules and activities, nap-times, and the time and energy involved in simply getting their crew of kids into the car to come for visits! These moms also believe in themselves, in their bodies, and in their intuition to know if everything seems healthy. They know to reach out with any concerns.
To state the obvious:
1. Pregnancy is normal.
2. The majority of healthy women will have normal, healthy pregnancies.
3. Pregnancy does not need any interventions- eat healthy, be healthy.
4. There is nothing to fear about pregnancy.
5. Pregnant women are beautifully equipped with intuition.
6. Pregnant women are capable of reaching out if they have concerns.
Based on these 6 truths, the current system of routine prenatal care can be vastly streamlined. Just as traditionally babies were born at home, traditionally prenatal visits were conducted at home as well. By offering a decreased number of visits at specific times in the pregnancy, it is now possible to offer all in-home prenatal care and bring tradition back to maternity care..
Our ROUTINE care package includes:
-routine prenatal visits (~12) and labs in our office
-birth pool rental
-anatomy scan ultrasound order and any orders for medically necessary ultrasounds
-3rd trimester visit to your home
-arrival at your home when in active labor
-planned attendance by Julie and Kara at your delivery and immediate postpartum course
-non-professional Iphone photos and birth video as circumstances allow and per your consent
-2 postpartum home visits (1 day and 1 week) for mama and baby
-completion of state-mandated newborn screenings
-preparation of birth certificate paperwork
-6 week office postpartum visit for mama and baby
-24/7 direct text and phone call communication with us directly to our cell phones
Additional homebirth expenses may include birth supplies, ultrasound, newborn screening card, and fees for distance (travel fees waived for those living at Fort Leavenworth).

-completion of state-mandated newborn screenings
-preparation of birth certificate paperwork
-24/7 direct text and phone call communication with us directly to our cell phones
Additional homebirth expenses may include birth supplies, ultrasound, newborn screening card, and fees for distance (>25 miles from office).
